Tybee Island Squares & Monuments

Tybee Island is a wonderland of history just waiting to be explored.
Fort Pulaski is certainly part of that history. You may be impressed with the historic military architecture of the fort’s main structure. With guided tours, musket firings, walking trails and even bird watching you’ll find it hard to leave this once active military base. If you’re lucky you may have the chance to see some of the wildlife that call this park and monument home, including more than 11 protected species.
Another fort you may be interested in visiting is Fort Screven. This fort was an active and important part of America’s Coastal Defense system up until 1947 when it was sold to the town of Tybee Island.
